Love after Addiction (2026) is a Chinese-made BL. When China is mentioned, censorship comes to my mind immediately. It must be difficult to pass through censorship in China. I know Love after Addiction is a bit ordinary, a bit cliché, but it has now become difficult to find quality boys’ love. Especially the Thailand BL sector has now switched to factory production. I hope the sector does not finish itself.
The drama is built upon two different stories. While the main story passes a bit harder and more arduous, the second story progresses easier and simpler. The theme of a celebrity having bad times and experiencing problems is very familiar. Nevertheless, it is a BL progressing well for a summer love. It doesn’t have such a subtext or an effort to give a message either. There is only romance and comedy sprinkled in between.
👉 My Suggestion: The BL series worth watching
Love After Addiction Drama Plot and Summary
The famous actor Yo Ki gets marginalized by his fans because of the problems he experiences and especially because he treated his girlfriend badly. Everyone takes a stand against him. To get rid of this situation, he needs to be a bit out of sight, go to a small village, and participate in an event there. We know this theme. The theme of a celebrity in trouble escaping somewhere and working in mandatory projects appeared before me here too. It is cliché, but the environment of the series was plain.
Meanwhile, there is a youth named Yang Meng in the village. Right at this point, one more cliché steps into the series. There is a togetherness between Yang Meng and Yo Ki from their high school years. The duo has separated. Since the trust between them is now damaged, a tension will be experienced between them in the village too.
The duo will approach each other. Yo Ki will try to make himself loved again by making an agreement with the director for his last program here. Meanwhile, the trust between them gets damaged with Yang Meng again.

The past togetherness of the duo, Yo Ki’s withdrawing from the entertainment industry now, accepting his sexual orientation and mistakes was good in terms of character development.
The other duo is another idol, Xu Che, and Ye Ran. Although the duo met through a one-night stand based on the past again, Xu Che has forgotten this. The tension between the duo gets sorted out quickly. Especially since Ye Ran feels used in a one-night stand, he takes his revenge, and then the duo will bind to each other.
In short, the subject is simple but sincere. The BL does not present a novelty, but it was a pleasant viewing to watch.
Drama Review and Commentary
In my opinion, the number of very quality BLs inside the year 2026 is few. Love After Addiction is in a summer love theme that can be watched. The colors, the pure sea literally unite with love. The natural environment of the village also pleased me. There were real life, real places; whereas in BL series, luxury is generally shoved into our eyes. It has a story outside of those BL stories passing among rich brats in luxury houses, with idol actors and wealthy characters.
In both stories, the chemistry of the characters is good. Of course, the event resembling a competition on the island is very weak, not realistic. Nevertheless, the closing of wounds and mistrusts coming from the past between the duo is narrated well. The relationship of the duo coming to light in the village is an example of classic heteronormative pressures, I can say.
There is not much to write or define the series. At first, there was an impression as if Yo Ki used Yang Meng, which I think happened that way. Afterward, he learns that he shouldn’t deny who he is and someone who loves him just to save his fame. This theme develops very rapidly. Since the episodes of the series are very short, it does not tire and events progress quickly.
Is the BL Drama Worth Watching?
Yes, it is watched. A summer love, a pure sea, a pure romance… There is no unnecessary drama and artificial acting that will tire your head either. There are no fans walking around screaming all over the place either. One of China’s minimalist and non-tiring stories. You can take it into your watchlist.
The original name of the series is 许你十年; it is 12 episodes and each episode is 25 minutes, but it finishes in 18-19 minutes. The first 2 minutes is also the credit sequence. There is technical detail on MDL. That is all I have to say.
