Never Forget Your Enemy: Sometimes Forgetting Means Protecting Your Loved One

Thai-Korean BL drama

Never Forget Your Enemy (ยังไงก็ใช่นาย ) (2026) is a  WeTV, Thailand-produced South Korean BL series. The drama is K-BL but the producing country is Thailand. I will evaluate the series as a Korean BL. The series is 8 episodes. As always, it is a plain production without a sub-story. It has themes such as love, enmity, trust, and memory loss. It is a calm series with emotional density.

If you say is it watchable; yes, it is watchable. It has a simple but passionate plot. There are now so many bad and repetitive boys’ love stories! Most of them are trash. This series is an adaptation of the web novel of the same name Never Forget Your Enemy (네 원수를 잊지 마라). Author: Hwacha (화차).

I will write beforehand one of the aspects that disturbed me in the series. The filter and whitener or makeup on the face of the character Yeo Sae Byeok is so exaggerated that it is not clear whether he is a human or a zombie. If you do not want to see characters almost in an “alien” type for the sake of making human faces look like “idols,” I say skip the series. But if you say exaggerated makeup is in the nature of BL series, then watch it. I loved the calmness of the story.

✅ My Suggestion: The BL series worth watching

Never Forget Your Enemy

Never Forget Your Enemy (2026) Plot and Summary

The plot of the series is actually built upon a familiar memory loss theme. We had seen this theme before in dramas like Love Syndrome III (2023). This theme is not new. The series narrates the romantic relationship between two childhood friends, Ki Ha Neul and Yeo Sae Byeok.

Ki Ha Neul is someone stubborn, harsh, and trusting no one. Even though he is in love with his closest childhood friend Yeo Sae Byeok, he does not show this. Yeo Sae Byeok cannot express his emotions similarly either. Even when they disclose their feelings, the state of tension between them will continue.

The series suddenly jumps 10 years later with a accident scene when the duo is 19 years old in high school (I will touch upon this in the review and commentary). Ki Ha Neul has lost his memory. Although there is no physical brain damage, he is psychologically like programmed to forget Yeo Sae Byeok.

While the duo runs after getting to know each other and the memories in the lost archive, Ki Ha Neul begins to remember what happened to him and the lost 10 years. Why did he experience memory loss? What is the reason for the accident he had? These will come to light in the progressive episodes of the series.

The emphasis “never forget your enemy” causing all this tragedy gains meaning in the final episodes. Behind all this accident and losses, a topic that can be considered a bit cliché will turn up. Perhaps reading this theme in the novel would be much more enjoyable. The obsessed fan theme felt very unnatural to me. In the end, love will win.

Drama Review and Commentary

No need to prolong too much. The series is of a watchable quality. I think the series is good especially for the themes of memory loss, revenge, jealousy, and an obsessed fan. Acting and character chemistry, harmony are not bad. However, I can say that Yeo Sae Byeok (Lee Ja Woon) turned into a zombie with that whitening makeup and filters on his face and disturbed me while watching. I literally felt as if the famous Turkish trans singer Bülent Ersoy was before me. The eroticism in the series is also in place; it wouldn’t lose anything even if it wasn’t there.

The 10-year memory loss and the hospital scene are very complex. In the series, it became difficult sometimes to understand at what time which event took place. This did not disturb me. I love series taking place in such mixed times. Locations are very limited in the series, but I loved the shootings. Especially the calm and peaceful seasides, the places where the duo strolled together are very spacious. I can say these places are like a painting of love, sacrifice, and devotion.

There is no viewing for the sake of the acting of the famous actor Yeo Sae Byeok in the series. Again, the real reason for the accidents and memory loss Ki Ha Neul experienced gets lost among the time confusion in the series in my opinion.

Devotion and trust are the central themes of the series. Ki Ha Neul actually wants to separate not because he doesn’t love his lover or his heart has passed, but to protect him. This is a sacrifice, actually. On the other hand, the duo also learns to trust each other. An obsessed fan approaching a celebrity this much and the weakness of the narration of the criminal events during this time is the other aspect I criticize in the series.

The sacrifice of Yeo Sae Byeok is big. He completely escapes from confusion, from being in the public eye as a famous actor, and from being a target. This can be a big personal development for him. Both characters learn sacrifice and leaving their traumas behind.

Is the Series Worth Watching?

Let me put it this way: the series is simple and minimalist. If you want a Thailand-style BL, the series will not give this. The series doesn’t have such a legendary plot either. But it will definitely give you the BL dose you want. I found the series worth watching. Perhaps you can look at the MDL site for too much technical detail. There is nothing else there besides absurd “idol” comments.

Curator's Note

My rating comment: It has a simple plot. However, it is a series that can be watched with its minimalist and non-tiring storyline. Although time jumps sometimes make watching difficult, overall it is a K-BL style series in the name of love, revenge, obsessions, and sacrifice. The shootings, locations are calm and make you feel the romance. The only trouble is the faces of the actors being excessively made up and filtered. There was literally a zombie before me.
