Reading Daniken was enjoyable for me. Not because everything he says is true, but I love conspiracy theories. Especially his mysterious narratives on mythology and ancient civilizations are enjoyable. Sometimes I even found myself saying, “what if it’s true?”. There are many unknowns in world history. However, I try to be rational and skeptical; therefore, I need to keep my distance from such conspiracy theories.
Daniken narrates official history and archaeology like science fiction. Every myth and every ancient artifact is evidence for an alternative world history for him. Graham Hancock’s thoughts are the same as well. Hancock also had a documentary on Netflix. Daniken generally claims that the people of the world interacted with alien astronauts in ancient times. According to him, these gods gave civilization to humanity. Then they just took off.

When the very few humans and civilizations that hid and protected this connection for thousands of years were also plundered by the barbarian explorers of the new world, not much was left behind. Of course, those who think there is a share of accuracy as much as those who research these topics are treated as “crazy” nowadays. But locking oneself into a single thought or belief will not bring enlightenment to man. Again, when we research, we understand that ancient beliefs form the origin of current faiths.
