The answer to the question must be hidden in the character dynamics and the drama of an unwanted heir. The audience will focus on the tension, emotional development, and acceptance between the duo.
Seo Jeong Han will learn to stand up to his father, put those who commit injustices in their place, and be free. He will learn to confront his true feelings beneath his tough shell. He will accept his identity and personality. Will he be someone his father and other family members want him to be, or will he be someone he himself wants to be?
On the other hand, Lee Il Jo has a rather faded character. He is powerless. He is rejected. He is constantly subjected to violence by his stepbrother and step-uncle. The content is full of clichés, but the character dynamics are sufficient. I must also add that one shouldn’t expect too much from BL series anyway.
